Flying from Albany NY to Fairbanks Ak. When to get my bags? Switching airlines.?

I am flying from Alb to Minneapolis to anchorage to fairbanks. I switch airlines in Anchorage. Will I need to get my bags at the airport when I switch? Also any info on flying is appreciated. It is my first time.
