Living in Chicago, IL?

Where to get an apartment depends on what type of neighborhood you want to live in. Since you will be a student, I would suggest Rogers Park(east of Clark Street). Loyola University is in Rogers Park, so there will be a lot of college students living in the area and you can get more for your money in Rogers Park(in terms of living space) than you can in some other parts of the city. Andersonville and Edgewater are also good neighborhoods to live in because apartments there are still affordable and both neighborhoods are "up and coming". Transportation is good in that you can easily get around town using the bus or train. Google Chicago Transit Authority to learn more about Chicago's bus and train commuter systems. People, for the most part, are friendly and helpful. Stay out of the west and south side of the city....that is where the gang activity and crime rates are highest.
